Several known vulnerabilities have been reported against SSL and earlier versions of Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1).

Using TLS 1.2 is highly recommended by Microsoft and several standards-enforcement organizations.

In this document is explained how to disable earlier versions of TLS and activate TLS 1.2 and how to change the ODBC driver in order for it to support the protocol.
