The "Current" counter gives the position of the playhead (red line). The playhead can be moved to another position on the wave form by double-clicking on the counter and entering the exact position required. To validate, press Enter or press "Esc" to cancel.
(active phasemetre)
(inactive phasemetre)
Just below this counter, one can see a phasemeter it is possible to activate (the phasemeter appears in colours) or deactivate (the phasemeter turns to grey) by simply clicking on the phasemeter bar. This tool allows you to measure the difference of phases between two alternating currents with the same frequency.
The phase meter gives a simple indication to non-technical people regarding phase opposition, which can prove extremely useful for mono (AM) transmissions produced in stereo.
•When the white dot is in the green side, both left and right channels are in phase: indicates no stereo effect.
•When the dot is on the red side left and right channel phase are opposed: indicates problems in case of mono mixdown (summing opposed signal to mono mixdown will result in silence or muffled sound).
